Wisdom from Solomon

Proverbs 1:1-12
The older I get the more I see
The wisdom God’s truths provide for me.
So here’s a few samples from Solomon’s pen.
You will find them worth reading again and again.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
Lean not on your own understanding.
Invite the Lord His truth to impart;
Don’t do what the flesh is demanding.

Try not to be wise in your own eyes;
Fear God and depart from evil.
For if you don’t learn your flesh to despise
It will soon bring you strife and upheaval.

Honor the Lord with all your possessions;
Give a tithe of what you are earning,
For when you gain mastery over greed;
It’s a pretty good start in your learning.

Do not despise the Lord’s chastening hand;
Never spurn His correction.
If you would be a credit to this land,
Submit and seek His direction.
