Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well (NIV)
Times are tough and people are groping. Many are gripped by fear.
Trials can cause their hearts to be open. Is there a message for them to hear?
God has given a word of comfort that can bless and set them free.
Though it was written years ago, it’s still true for you and me.
Jesus said if we belong to the Father, we shouldn’t be frozen by fear
God has promised food and water. Our role is to persevere.
Jesus cited the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap,
But you’ll never find a bird in despair so troubled he cannot sleep.
When it comes to the clothes we all need, God spoke about the flowers.
There is no fashion designer indeed who can duplicate that power.
Now flowers don’t rank as high as people—that’s the word He gave,
Can you imagine the lengths He will go when it is one of us He saves.
His message reminds us not to worry about what we shall eat or drink.
The greater problem Jesus has is teaching us how we should think.
We should remember we’re in His care; there’s no safer place to be.
Our Creator, Savior, Sustainer, Maintainer cares for us constantly.
So seek first His kingdom, do what is right. That is His command.
It’s far more important than movies at night and video on demand.
God is pleased to give us good gifts. As a Father He loves to bless.
As we began to understand Him, we learn to trust and rest.
So here is the message we need to hear, the truth that comes from on high.
He will relieve this worry and fear and stop the trembling sigh.
God has promised to remove the tears; put a smile back on your face.
So lift your heart and thank the Lord for all his blessings and grace
